Coleman was born and raised in the town of the Lancashire town of Blackpool. Coleman graduated from Arnold School Blackpool, where she was able to get straight As in the A-levels she took. When discussing her character on Emmerdale, Coleman stated that she regrets not having a conventional University education. Coleman, while still at the high school system, was a student of a theatrical company called In Yer Space. They presented the show Crystal Clear for the Edinburgh Festival. Her performance was rewarded with a prestigious award, and the production received favorable reviews. Coleman got the part as Jasmine Thomas while she was auditioning at drama schools. The audition took place in 2005. Coleman was nominated for awards in 2007 and won two prizes. The British Soap Awards nominated her as the best newcomer. The National Television Awards, she received the award for best newcomer with the highest popularity. It was the British Soap Awards 2009 nominated Coleman for both the Best Actress - Sexiest Feminine and the category for Best Dramatic Performance. Coleman was nominated for Best Actress by the TV Choice Awards. Steven Moffat revealed at a Doctor Who Press Conference on March 21st, 2012 that Coleman was set to portray Matt Smith as the Doctor's Companion after Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill and other actors left the show. Moffat stated that he picked Coleman to play the role of companion because she would be the best companion for Smith. Also, Moffat noted that she was more talkative than Smith. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. She has been active in the film industry since 1987. She has however been more prominent on TV as opposed to films. Eva was in a number of roles on television, but two stand out: Dr. Maria Santos' role in All My Children as well as the character of Detective Natalia Boavistas' in CSI Miami. The latter even garnered her two nominations for the Daytime Emmy Awards as well as gave her the chance to express her creative side through music. Eva is a businesswoman, and also an actress. Her third husband is father of her daughter.
