Coleman was born in Blackpool Lancashire. She was the head girl of Arnold School, Blackpool and had straight A's at her A levels. When Coleman was asked about her Emmerdale role she stated it was regrettable that she didn't having had the traditional college experience. In high school Coleman was a part of the theatre group In Yer Space with whom they performed at the Edinburgh Festival in the play Crystal Clear. She was awarded an award for her performance while the production was also praised. Coleman received the role as Jasmine Thomas while she was trying out for drama classes. It happened in 2005. Coleman was nominated for awards in 2007 and won two awards. At the British Soap Awards she was named Best Newcomer, and in the National Television Awards she was selected as the most Popular Newcomer. In 2009, at the British Soap Awards she was awarded in the Best Actress Sexiest Female and the Best Dramatic Performance category. Coleman was nominated for Best Actress by the TV Choice Awards. Steven Moffat announced at a Doctor Who press conference on 21 March that Coleman was the replacement for Karen Gillan as the companion of the Doctor since Arthur Darvill left the series she would play the role with Matt Smith. Moffat has chosen her for the part because she was most successful with Smith and spoke faster than him. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model.
