Coleman was raised in the town of Blackpool in Lancashire. Coleman attended Arnold School Blackpool as head girl. She also scored all As in her A-level exams. She is disappointed that she did not get a normal university education when discussing her Emmerdale experience. Coleman worked with a group known as In Yer Space at her school. The group performed Crystal Clear in Edinburgh Festival. In addition to being awarded a prize for acting skills, the show it performed attracted a lot of attention. Coleman was given the part of Jasmine Thomas at Emmerdale while performing in drama school in 2005. Coleman was nominated for awards in 2007 and won two prizes. In 2007 Coleman was nominated to win two awards: The British Soap Awards as the most promising newcomer and the National Television Awards as the Most Popular. The award was presented to her as Best Actress, Sexiest Woman and for the Best Dramatic Performance at the British Soap Awards 2009. Coleman received a nomination for Best Actress from the TV Choice Awards. Steven Moffat, the producer of Doctor Who confirmed in a 21st March 2012 press conference that Coleman will portray Matt Smith's partner after Karen Gillan left. Moffat said that he chose Coleman to be the companion because she could work best with Smith. Additionally, Moffat noted that she spoke faster than Smith. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. She's been working in the world of entertainment since 1987. Her work has been much more visible on television as opposed to films. Eva is best known for her roles in the role of Dr. Maria Santos on All My Children and detective Natalia Boa Vistas in CSI Miami. The latter even garnered her two nominations for the Daytime Emmy Awards as well as gave her the chance to express her creative side through music. Eva is not only acting, but she's as well a philanthropist and businesswoman. The third man she has married is the father of her daughter.
