Coleman is a native of Blackpool Lancashire. She attended Arnold School Blackpool, where she scored straight A's for the A-levels she took. In discussing her Emmerdale character, Coleman expressed regret for being unable to attend a college. While at school Coleman was a member of a theater company named In Yer Space with whom she played at the Edinburgh Festival in the play Crystal Clear. Along with receiving a prize for her acting skills, the show she performed was well received. Whilst auditioning for drama schools Coleman got the role as Jasmine Thomas in Emmerdale in 2005. Coleman got two nominations in 2007. In 2007 Coleman was nominated for two awards, for the British Soap Awards as the most promising newcomer and the National Television Awards as the most Popular. She was nominated in the categories of Best Actress, Sexiest Woman as well as Best Dramatic Performance in the British Soap Awards 2009. Coleman received a nomination for Best Actress at the TV Choice Awards. Steven Moffat, the producer of Doctor Who confirmed in a 21st March 2012 press conference that Coleman will play Matt Smith's companion following the departure of Karen Gillan left. Moffat chose her for the role as she performed most effectively with Smith and could talk faster than Smith. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. She's been working active in the field for more than 30 years and is involved with numerous film and TV projects. But, she's more recognized for her TV shows than movies. Eva's appearances in the TV show"Dr. Maria Santos, in All My Children, and Detective Natalia Boa Vista in CSI Miami make an impact. In the latter, she even received two nominations for the Daytime Emmy Awards and allowed her to express her creative side through music. Eva is also a philanthropist, entrepreneur and philanthropist. The actress has three marriages and has a daughter with her second husband.
