Coleman is a Lancashire native. She attended Arnold School in Blackpool where she was head girl and scored straight A's in her A-levels. When discussing her character on Emmerdale, Coleman said that she regrets not having had a typical college experiences. Coleman, while still at high school, was a member of a theatrical company called In Yer Space. They performed the play Crystal Clear for the Edinburgh Festival. It also received favorable reviews. The show was praised with a prestigious award for her performance. When she was auditioning for drama schools, Coleman was offered the role as Jasmine Thomas in Emmerdale in 2005. In 2007 Coleman was nominated for two Awards. At the British Soap Awards she was named Best Newcomer, and at the National Television Awards she was named the Most Popular Newcomer. In 2009, she received nominated in the two categories: Best Actress-Sexiest Female and Best Performance Dramatic. Coleman was awarded a Television Choice Award nomination for Best Actress. The 21st of March, 2012 Doctor Who producer Steven Moffat confirmed at a press conference that Coleman will play the Doctor's companion alongside Matt Smith after Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill have left the show. Moffat has decided to put her in the role as she had the best chemistry with Smith. Also, she spoke faster than Smith. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. She's been active in the field for more than 30 years, and has been involved with numerous film and TV projects. But she's had a greater presence on television as opposed to films. Eva was in a number of parts on the screen, but two stand out: The role of Dr. Maria Santos' role in All My Children as well as the character of Detective Natalia Boavistas' in CSI Miami. The first role she played on TV earned her 2 Daytime Emmy nominations, and gave her the opportunity to explore her passion for music. Eva, in addition to acting as an actress, is an entrepreneur and philanthropist. She has been married thrice and also has a daughter with her first husband.
