Coleman was born in Blackpool Lancashire. She attended Arnold School Blackpool, where she scored straight A's for A-levels. Coleman regrets not having receive a standard schooling when talking about the Emmerdale experiences. Coleman performed on Crystal Clear at the Edinburgh Festival with a company named In Yer Space, which she was a part of while at the school. The show also received a positive reception. On the 21st March, 2012 Doctor Who producer Steven Moffat announced at a press event that Coleman would as the Doctor's companion along with Matt Smith after Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill have left the show. Moffat selected her for the role due to her being the most effective when working with Smith and could speak more rapidly than the actor. But she's been more prominent on TV as opposed to films. In the many roles Eva has appeared in on television shows Dr. Maria Santos in All My Children and Detective Natalia Boa Vista' in CSI Miami are the two that stand out. The latter even garnered her two 'Daytime Emmy' nominations as well as gave her the chance to explore her creativity in music. Eva is, along with being an actress is also an entrepreneur, philanthropist and business owner. Eva is married three times who has a daughter from her second spouse.
