The song reached the top 19 of both Billboard Hot 100 in Canada and also on the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named it one of the most memorable songs of the year. The same year, she released Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful is one of the five tracks that were the first to reach Billboard's charts. The song was particularly memorable since based on her interview with Rap-Up many listeners were inspired by her story of doubting herself and learning how to accept herself. Cara is famous for including messages about mental health kindness and self-love into her music. All of it is a result of her personal experience as she struggled with mental health issues and insomnia. In a Reuters interview, she's described her album half tumultuous and half-perfected. People have told her that she discovered her development in therapy. Alessia Cara has been a Canadian artist since the year 1996. Her parents are of Italian heritage. Her parents gifted her with guitar at the age of 10 and this ignited her love for music. 2013 was the year she recorded her favorite songs for YouTube, a popular media platform. It was done to show that she had both the talent and confidence to be an artist. One of her covers, Sweater Weather, was what got her noticed. EP Entertainment gave her the chance to write and write her own songs.
