Alessia Cara
In the year 2015, at age 19, she released her debut single, Here. It quickly became a hit that both critics and fans praised it. The track made it to the top 19 in both Billboard Hot 100 in Canada and on the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone called the track one of the Top Songs in 2015. In that same year she debuted her album Know It All with the third track Scars to Your Beautiful being one of five original tracks which reached the top of Billboard charts. This includes the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. In her interview with Rap-Up the listeners discussed Cara's struggle to find self-love as well as the doubts she faced. Cara integrates messages about love and kindness in her songs. Everything stems from her personal experience as she been battling mental health issues and insomnia. When she spoke to Reuters, she said that her album was "half turbulent" as well as "half perfect". The growth of her career was helped through therapy. She encourages others, if needed, to reach out for assistance. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto, Canada. She was born July 11, 1996, to parents of Italian descent. Alessia Cara's parents bought her her first guitar when she was just 10 years old. That was her first step with music. After three years, at 13 years old, she started to sing songs she loved via YouTube. It was an excellent method to demonstrate to the world her talent and courage. Sweater Weather is one of the covers that resulted in being discovered at the time by EP Entertainment. This record label allowed her create the songs she wrote herself.
